Firearm Crimes: Is there a way forward?

All over the world, especially in the United States, there has been an increase in firearms possession. It is totally worrisome that there is a growing number of individuals either owning licensed guns or using them indiscriminately.
Many reasons have been giving for this rise, they include
• Increase in violent crimes.
• Increase in gun related violence.
• Police brutality and in general
• Growing rise of insecurity.
If we accept that licensing guns for domestic use is the way forward, how then do we justify the high rate of homicide traceable to it.
Are there more things that could be done for people to feel safe in their communities?
Our productivity is affected, when we cannot do the simple things of life without fear of being shot.
If everyone begins to take the responsibility of protecting themselves with firearms, will the Government be able to handle the aftermath?
These many questions are seeking for answers.
