4 Impact of conflict in work places.
It is an established fact that conflict is normal and occurs in every entity. The differences in our individuality and interest also poses an obstacle for effective cohesion. Sometimes these conflicts can be due to sharing limited resources as seen in some work places where people have to share confined spaces, restrooms, work equipments, or work together in teams. Work conflicts can lead to
1. Low productivity: When members of a team are not united, the team will not be as effective as they should, that automatically will result in low productivity.
2. Unhealthy Competition: Where there are conflicts, team members begin to compete unfavourably rather than work together for a common good.
3. Physical fights : There have been incidences of physical fights in work places due to inability to manage conflicts. Some members of staff have inflicted injuries on their colleagues, which is why conflicts at work places needs to be minimized to the barest level.
4. Feelings of not being appreciated: When the conflict is between a boss and a staff, the staff may begin to feel unappreciated and will no more give out their best.
Conflict at workplaces should not be overlooked but managed to encourage growth.
